LF is the fault code for long fill. This means that the washer is taking to long to fill with water. You will need to remove the hoses from the water connections and see if there are screens in the ends of the hoses. If there are, then you will have to remove them and clean. Then remove the the hoses from the rear of the washer and inside the water valve where the hoses connect. There are screens there also. Remove there using a small screwdriver or pointed knife. Clean and reinstall.

Hope that was easy enough to follow. Merry Christams!

LF error on Maytag 2000 washer after unbalanced run slammed the machine against the wall. LF is a low/long fill error. Machine was filling, even more than usual, but run would invariably stop after a few minutes with the LF display. Problem was fill sensor connector had a wire broken, consecutive to the shock. Opened the top of the washer (removed three screws on top of rear panel and slid the top panel backwards). Connector is located in upper right rear corner. I was able to disassemble the connector and reinsert the broken wire. Problem solved. UNPLUG WASHER BEFORE REMOVING PANEL.
