Techie12330's answer is correct as far as it goes. magicJack will work in Canada.

He/she overlooked however the second part of your question. The brutal fact is that many numbers and whole area codes are not available for magicJack even in the U.S., so you order it at some risk. Even though magicJack will take it back within 30 days, you'd be responsible for shipping.

Yes. it would work well, the magic jack would work all over the world,especially you could take it alone with you while you travel.
