Broken Oil Filter

MY OIL FILTER WAS ON REALLY TIGHT AND WHEN I TRIED TO REMOVE IT I ENDED UP SHREDDING THE FILTER AND ENDED UP WITH JUST THE TOP PART OF THE FILTER WHERE THE HOLES ARE AND I HAVE RAN OUT OF IDEAS ON HOW I CAN TAKE THE REST OF THIS OIL FILTER OFF IS THERE ANY WAY I CAN TAKE IT OFF WITHOUT HAVING TO USE ANY SPECIAL KIND OF TOOL?
