Liftmaster Sw490 Reverses It's Open, Pause, Then Close Cycle.

We have a dual swing gate system with 2 SW490 units. Why would the entrance gate seem to function properly, then seemingly stop working in the open position? When transmitter is pushed again, the gate will close for about ten seconds, then open and stop in the full open position, like it thinks it's in the closed position, which it is not. Any ideas? Thanks
