Y530 Give Message Lan Cable Unplugged And Won't Connect To The Internet

My wi-fi connection works but I can't connect to the Internet because the lan cable is unplugged. There seems to be nothing wrong with my modem or my router. Another computer on the network also gets this message but connects to the Internet more reliably than my lenovo. Often the connection is intermittent - I'm on and off the connection to the Internet repeatedly. I am on an unsecured network. How do I plug in my lan? Is something wrong with my hardware? Why would the other computer get the same message?
