How To Enable Wi-fi

I have Lenovo G570 in which there was no separate button for wi-fi. I do not know how to evoke this function. Also there are some symbols on top of the horizontal key board, i do not know how to learn their significance. Could u pl suggest How I can use wi-fi connectivity.  Regards
