Ductless Split Installation

The installer tells me that both the copper lines (small and large) need to be insulated and wants to enclose them in the same insulation. Others tell me that this will cause heat transfer, and will negatively affect the system's ability to produce cold air. Do both the incoming and outgoing copper lines need insulation? Should they be insulated together?
