Konica Minolta 3730dn
Hi I have a konica Minolta 3730DN and it has an error message saying K toner not installed. I have replaced the original toner and I have put a brand new toner cartridge in (cleaned it) turned the printer on and off with and without taking the plug out.Any ideas?

Hello, I work with Konica Minolta and believe that I have an answer for your problem. There are several things that you can check. I suggest you start with the first one, and work your way down the list from there.
When the 3730DN shows the toner needs to be replaced after it has been replaced for the first time, this could be that the reader located just below where the toner sits may not be operating correctly.
1. Check to see if the pins have tension. If they feel uneven. possibly a pin is broken and not communicating with the small computer chip on the bottom side of the toner. This would only be discovered after the original toner has been replaced since these pins are not used until a new genuine (Konica Minolta) non-starter toner is installed.
2. Make sure this toner is not coming from another machine, if it is, and it is a starter, the machine will refuse to recognize it, as it is programmed to be looking for a standard or high-capacity toner once the starter is complete. It will not accept a starter again.
3. Be sure the toner is OEM toner. Konica Minolta does not refill or refurbish toners. Refilled or refurbed toners do not have our computer chips on them and the machine is likely to not recognize these non-genuine products (which may be labled as "compatible" toners).
4. Another possibility is that the pin location may not keep them positioned to make good contact with the toner cartridge. There was a modification done after September, 2012, that corrects this issue. For help on this, you would need to contact the Konica Minolta call center and file a ticket.
If machine is still showing a problem, call the Konica Minolta Contact Support Center at 877-778-2687. Be sure to have a proof of purchase of the toner ready.
