Refrigerator Stopped Cooling After It Was Constantly Turning On And Off

I have a KSSC42QTS and the unit's cooling unit was turning on and off frequently - with a little pinging sound that corresponded to the temperature display turning off and on (seemed like some circuit issue). Well it finally stopped cooling. The unit has power and the alarm light flashing is saying over temp. (of course - it stopped cooling). Seems like a faulty control board of some type - any suggestions?
