Displaying Door Open

the display on my Kenwood is reading door open and no other functions will work! The door is closed properly

The Kenwood's slot cover is open or the unit thinks that it is. There is a small tab towards the right end of the slot cover. Make sure it's intact. If it is, you have a problem with the sensor, and your Kenwood must be opened up for visual inspection and/or switch/sensor continuity checks--so you most likely need professional service. (Sorry.)
