Reconnecting With Pandora Displays 'reading'

I like to connect my iphone to my radio and listen to pandora while driving. The problem is whenever I return to my car the next time I'm driving, my radio doesn't recognize my phone as being connected. The radio just displays "Reading". I have to disconnect the phone, press play on pandora then reconnect the phone. This normally needs to be done multiple times before the radio recognizes the phone again.
