Electrical Smell

Our refridgerator is about 6 years old and recently started to have an electrical smell that started.  It still cools fine but the smell is very troubling?

The problem is going to be with start device for the compressor. When unit starts there is a  initial boost of power and start device has burned up or you compresssor.
