Reset the washer: unplug the washer from the power, and then leave it off for about 10 minutes. After that plug the washer back in and press stop/clear twice.If the problem persists or if you require further explanation, you'll have to obtain a walk-through from Sears: use the contact information here--https://www.contacthelp.com/sears/customer-service.

The E1 error code indicates that the electronic control board detects an open thermistor (temperature sensor). This is usually caused by a failed thermistor. It can also be caused by a wiring problem or a failed control board.
