Computer Sensor

I was told I need one, my jeeps dashboard lites and speed gages start blinking crazy, my heater fan stops, my check engine light sometimes stays on... and more. I was told I have 2 computers conflicting, and I need a sensor from a mechanic checking it on his computer... $300.00 to fix... Is it an easy fix for me to do?
