Th-g31 Remote

My JVC TH-G31 remote only works now and then, and less often recently. It is less than a year old. Usually it seems I have to take the batteries out and simply put them back in for it to work for about a minute. Then it ceases to function again. New batteries make no difference; this same procedure is all that prompts it to work. Do I just have a lemon? Can you send me a new one; it's under warranty isn't it?
