Jvc Home Theatre Th-m505

I am unable to get sound out of my JVC Home THeatre System TH-M505. It's on AUto Muting and I cannot get it to give me sound despite the fact everything is correctly hooked up. Is there a way to get rid of the auto muting and get sound out of the system?
