The solution tank on the Hoover FH40190 can leak from the bottom for a few reasons:

The tank may not be properly seated in the base of the cleaner. Make sure that the tank is pushed all the way in until it clicks into place.

The tank may be cracked or damaged. If the tank is cracked, it will need to be replaced.

The o-ring seal on the tank may be damaged or missing. The o-ring seal helps to prevent leaks. If the o-ring seal is damaged or missing, you can replace it with a new one.

To fix the leak, follow these steps:

Turn off the cleaner and unplug it from the outlet.

Remove the solution tank from the base of the cleaner.

Check to make sure that the tank is properly seated in the base. If it is not, push it all the way in until it clicks into place.

Inspect the tank for cracks or damage. If the tank is cracked, it will need to be replaced.

Check the o-ring seal on the tank. If the o-ring seal is damaged or missing, replace it with a new one.

Reassemble the cleaner and test it to make sure that the leak is fixed.

If you are still having trouble with the leak, you may need to contact Hoover customer service for further assistance.

Here are some additional tips to help prevent leaks from the solution tank:

Do not overfill the tank.

Make sure that the tank is clean and free of debris.

Do not use harsh chemicals in the tank.

Store the cleaner in a cool, dry place.

I hope this helps!
