Locate the power source of the motion detector. If it's battery-powered, locate the battery compartment. If it's hardwired, locate the power supply wires.
If it's battery-powered, remove the batteries from the compartment. If it's hardwired, turn off the power source by either unplugging it or turning off the circuit breaker that powers the motion detector.
Wait for at least 10 to 15 seconds.
Reinsert the batteries into the battery compartment or reconnect the power supply wires.
Turn on the power source or turn on the circuit breaker.
Wait for the motion detector to power up and calibrate. This can take up to a minute.
Test the motion detector by walking in front of it to see if it detects motion and triggers the control panel.
Performing a reset can sometimes help resolve issues with the motion detector, such as a malfunctioning sensor or programming error. If the motion detector still isn't working after performing a reset, consult the user manual or contact Honeywell customer support for further assistance.
