Replace Old Honeywell Thermostat With New Ct87k Thermostat Heater Did Not Work

installed another one and that did not work either but old thermostat with mercury back on and worked find why won't it work with the new ct87k

I'm trying my third one...hope it works. First missing parts, second didn't control heat unless it was set at 80
