How Does A Brake Booster/master Get Filled With Brake Fluid?

So 2 lights turn on at dash. "VSA"&"BRAKE" Took into dealer, diagnosed brake booster and master cylinder bad. Full of fluid. Quoted: $1600!!!My car has only 41000 miles. But 1 year out of 5 yr warranty. Is this a wear and tear issue? Dealer said they don't know how this happens? Was in love with this car and trusted it to be safe for family. Now there're saying its 50/50 chance of my brakes falling to the floor.

Brake booster and the master cylinder should both be inspected, The seals are probably leaking fluid.
