Looking For Firmware Update Utility For Hitachi Ic25n040atmr04-0
Need to update firmware of my dying and corrupted Hitachi Travelstar IC25N040ATMR04-0 40GB. It appears in the BIOS as IC"5N0$0ATMR 4-0. It is making noises and will not format.Hddguru site has firmware for that model but it's just a bunch of .rpm files(there's also a ROM.bin if that helps). I need something like an .exe that I can just run from Windows.

Its unlikely a firmware upgrade would be available for this hard drive due to its age and size but the original firmware would be. On the hddguru website there is a low level format tool available as an exe which would reformat your drive to original. I've used this program many times with a reasonable amount of success in restoring drives. I would suggest taking another look at the site, this is the link:
