Hitachi C12lsh Wiring Power Swith

I neglected to take a picture of the wiring of the switch. It has 3 connections.... One for the power, motor and motor brake. The wire colours are black, white and red. Do you know which colour goes with which function?

The likely scenario is that one is the supply voltage and then you have a second wire which will temporarily connect to the starter winding of the motor. Then the third wire will go to the normal motor winding. The wire that is for the starter winding will be connected to a capacitor. The only way to identify the correct pins is to use a multimeter on the ohms range. DISCOONNECT FROM SUPPLY. Measure which wire goes to the mains plug. This will be the common. Measure the switch to see what connection makes when the switch is operated and connects initially. That is likely to be the starter wire. The wire that goes to the main armature will be the one that goes to the switch connection which is always on. ie measures 0 ohms across contacts from the common to an alternative pin when the switch is on. Makes sense? Read it a few times and also I suggest googling the wiring system of motors. Use the motor details as a search and you will probably find a solution. Next time........take a photo its simpler. Sorry couldn't resist it I've done it as well.
