Improper Shutdown

every time I print midway through the page the printer shuts down completely.

This is going to be a power issue. If you have a UPS or surge protector disconnect from it completely. This should solve the issue.

If you have neither move the computer to a different outlet. 99% of the time it is not an issue with the computer itself but the lack of power getting to it. When you start the printer it starts spooling and pulling power and there is a spike and if the computer is shutting down there is a power issue somewhere.
