Hp Photosmart C4700 Series Printer Drivers

When I try to install Photosmart C4700 printer drivers, it is never ssuccessful. It always says drivers are not installed (code 28)

Hello madinek,

As you have already tried installing the HP Printer driver onto your system, you should begin with a fresh install/set-up.

To do this, please completely unplug the printer from BOTH computer/laptop and the Printer itself. (data cable and power cord)

Go to the Printers folder in your Control Panel and remove any driver for this printer model that may already be installed on your computer/laptop. Then Reboot your system. Leave printer off to the side for now.

There are two options for installing the printer driver onto your Operating system, depending on which one you have:

Option (a) is the Install Wizard which will perform the installation on Operating Systems running Windows 7, Windows 8 or Windows 8.1.

Option (b) is to manually install the driver and applies to most Windows Operating Systems.

(a) After your system reboots, go to the following link to run the HP Printer Install Wizard for Windows:

The Install Wizard will automatically locate and install the correct driver, as needed. Just follow the prompts.

(b) Download the Printer's Driver from the HP Website. The driver for your printer can be accessed here.

Once there, choose the Title Install Software and Drivers, then choose the type of Operating System you currently use. This will pull up a list of downloads available for your system.

Choose the Driver and download it. Once complete, the install wizard should open to guide you through the installation process. Just follow the prompts to completion.

Please note: The printer should remain disconnected until instructed to do so during the set-up process.
