How To Fix Hp Laserjet P2035n From Smearing

There are many different things that could cause smearing. If it's smearing only when you use thicker paper (like cardstock) check to be sure the printer is set for the right type of paper. Loading thick paper and not setting the printer for the correct paper will cause smearing.

If, when you touch the smeared image with your hand, the toner comes off on your hand, the problem is most likely with the fuser.

Otherwise, a good first step for fixing the smearing is replacing the toner cartridge, since it has so many components inside it (drum, developer, charger, etc.).
