How Install Start-up Ink Cartridges In Hp Officejet Pro 8600 ?
Turned power on. When open the pull-down panel to load ink cartriges can see the empty ink cartridge slots all the way to the right side. No way to access the ink catridge slots. Shouldn't the empty ink cartridge slots slide automatically over to the left side of the carriage so can install the ink cartridges ?

Hi Lakin.
I had exactly the same problem yesterday. Frustrating to say the least but I resolved it as you may have by now. Two things to remember.
1. If the product is new, be absolutely certain all plastic, Styrofoam, paper, cardboard or any tabs placed on or in the machine to insure save shipping are removed. If you've done this already, double check carefully.
2. Make sure the printer plugged in and turned ON. If the carriage (into which you insert the cartridges) still doesn't center as indicated in the tutorial, try unplugging the power source from the rear of the printer. Wait thirty seconds and plug it in again. That carriage should center automatically.
I know that sounds really elementary but it worked for me. I wish HP would just place a little insert into the instruction book to deal with it. I felt your frustration yesterday and I truly hope this helps.
