Hp Deskjet 540 Printer And Windows7

Is there anyway to use a HP Deskjet 540 printer with the Windows7 operating system?  HP has decided this model is no longer worth their time to support it and Microsoft has colluded with HP to reject it being used with Windows7.  Is there another printer, that is compatible with it, on the list of printers Windows7 supports?
