I see that you're getting a message after using recovery media and doing updates that windows is failing the updates and reverting. That this has last for over an hour. I will try to help you with this.

If you haven't yet, you may want to try this: Performing a Hard Reset or Forced Reset

Looking into this issue for you, I was able to find this post on the EightForums.com: Windows update: Failure configuring Windows Updates. Rever.

Through a few posts, it leads to disabling Secure boot in the BIOS, then running the updates and then to re-enable secure boot.
This document: Secure Boot (Windows 8), can help you with how to do that.
