Filter media or elements: Check the filter media or elements in your Perflex filter. If they are dirty or clogged, they can cause a rapid decline in pressure. Clean or replace the filter media or elements according to the manufacturer's instructions.
Pump or motor issues: A malfunctioning or improperly sized pump can result in inadequate water flow, causing a decrease in pressure. Check the pump for any issues such as a clogged impeller or a motor that is not running at the correct speed. Ensure that the pump is properly sized for your pool or spa.
Plumbing blockages: Examine the plumbing lines connected to the Perflex filter for any blockages or obstructions. Debris or objects stuck in the plumbing can restrict water flow and lead to pressure decline. Clear any blockages and ensure the plumbing is properly connected.
Backwashing or cleaning frequency: If you are backwashing or cleaning the filter too frequently, it can lead to a rapid decline in pressure. Backwashing is necessary when the pressure reaches a certain level, indicating that the filter is dirty. However, excessive backwashing can disrupt the filter media and reduce its effectiveness. Follow the recommended backwashing or cleaning frequency specified by the manufacturer.
