Can I Replace The Microwave And Not The Hood?

I want to replace the microwave with a newer version but I think I need to keep the hood. Also, does it matter if I replace a 1.8 size with a 1.6?

I could have given you a more definite answer, if you had given the hood make/model. When you go to make the purchase take the hoods model # so they can advise you on which MW model will work with your hood.

I hope this is helpful to you!
