Is The Gemicrowave Pem31 Any Better Than The Jem31?

I have used the JEM31 only for popcorn.  My husband and I have had it for 5 years, but was not used at all for the first 2 years.  Last week it DIED!!!!!!  I am in need of a new microwave with just about the same dimensions.  Is the PEM31 any better than the older model......what problems can I expect and is there another unit you would recommend????  Thank you.
