Vent Is Not Working

I have a GE profile range with a telescoping pop up vent. The vent no longer works not sure if its a motor issue or something minor. GE repair person advice was to buy a new vent. Inquiring if anyone is experienced with this and able to repair without having to buy a new vent. Model number is JVB94SHSS. is possible to buy just the motor.
