Your Garmin nuvi 250 gives you accurate, real-time directions to almost any urban or rural destination in America. If you plan to take the nuvi 250 with you when you drive to your next business meeting, update your device's software before you travel. Garmin provides the free WebUpdater application for updating your GPS. WebUpdater installs software updates on the nuvi 250 that may fix problems or improve the device's functionality.

Connect the nuvi 250 to your computer via the supplied USB cable. Allow the device to charge fully before proceeding with the update. If the nuvi has a low battery, the charge may take up to four hours to complete.

Go to the Garmin WebUpdater download page and click "Download" next to the appropriate version for your operating system.

Read the warning and the Software License Agreement, then click "I agree to the above terms and want to proceed to the download page."

Click "Download," then click "Save File." Save the WebUpdater file to your desktop.

Double-click the WebUpdater file when the download completes, then click "Run."

Agree to the license terms and click "Next," then click "Done" to finish installation. WebUpdater will launch automatically if it detects your Garmin device.

Click the Start button, then click "All Programs" and "WebUpdater" if the program doesn't start automatically. Click "Find Device" to scan for your nuvi.

Click "Next" when WebUpdater finds the nuvi, then click "Next" again to install the latest software. After installing the software, WebUpdater searches for optional updates.

Click the check box next to each optional update found, then click "Next" to install them.

Click "Finish" when prompted and disconnect the nuvi from the computer.
