Sonar Failure

I have a 90/140 Garmin fish finder. The fault I am getting says sonar failure . What could be the problem. The fish finder is used on a stealth kayak. The fish finder was installed by stealth. Regards Gary Moffitt,

sonar failure means is the transducer itself is bad.
