Airbag Sensor B0081 And B0074

A "Service Air Bag" indicator keeps coming on intermittently, whether there is a passenger in the seat or not.  They did a diagnostic test and found DTC B0081 and B0074 set due to short within passenger module.  I heard that this can happen from a smart phone.  Is this true and if so, if I have the module replaced will it happen again?  Will the airbags still deploy in an accident if I don't have it fixed?
