How To Remove And Replace Scanner Glass

Somehow a small piece of detritus has lodged on the underside of the base (front-side) scanner glass on my fi-6130 Fujitsu scanner. This, of course, causes a black line down the middle of every scanned page.Can you offer any advice on how to remove and clean this glass? Or ideas on how to get rid of the detritus without having to remove the glass?Sending the scanner out for repair is not a viable option for me, I am retired in Mexico and it would likely be less expensive for me to buy a round-trip airplane ticket and take the scanner back to the U.S. than it would be to ship it out and then pay the import duty to bring it back into Mexico.Douglas Burnside ([email protected])
