Hello shafredabarber, thank you for your question! I understand that your air conditioner is not cooling properly. Here are some simple troubleshooting tips to help resolve this issue:

  • When was the last time the filter was cleaned? Restricted air flow from a soiled air filter can cause air conditioner to not cool properly. Make sure there is nothing blocking the airflow to the unit like blinds, drapes, furniture, etc which could restrict air distribution.

  • Confirm that the condenser coil is clean and not restricted by any trees, bushes, etc since the coils could possibly be blocked or dirty.

  • Verify that the plug is not damaged and try resetting the unit. This can be done by pressing the GFI plug on the unit.

  • Do not use an extension cord.

If issue persists, I would suggest contacting an experienced service technician to determine the precise cause.
