Hello SYUNKER – Thank you for your question. Most dishwashers have filters that have a screen on the top, which you can typically see in the unit and then it should have a trap. The trap is to help prevent broken glass, straws, pits, etc., getting into the drain itself. You should simply be able to grasp handle, lift out, empty and place it back.
