Takes A Long Time To Start

My Toaster oven worked well until recently. Now every time we want to use it it takes 5 minutes or longer before it begins to warm up. In the mean time the timer is running.

If the bake (lower) igniter is glowing red when you set the oven to bake and the oven bake valve never opens then the failure is a weak bake igniter. The bake igniter must pull enough current/amperage to cause the bake valve to open before the bake burner will ignite.
If the range is still under warranty then I recommend calling and setting up a service appointment to have your range repaired.

The bake igniter is part #316489403 which can be ordered from
Sears PartsDirect

To replace the bake igniter:

Disconnect the power cord from the power source
Remove the oven racks
Remove the oven floor and flame spreader.
Remove the two screws securing the bake igniter the bake burner.
Remove the bake igniter and then slowly pull the wires out from the opening until you come to the quick disconnect plug.

Disconnect the plug and then reverse the procedure to re-install the new bake igniter.

Thanks
