Typically in any cooking appliance, a preheat cycle to a standard 350-400ºF set temperature can take up to 30 minutes to reach desired setting. The unit will cycle on and off until the set temperature is reached on average. This means the unit may go above the temperature you set it on and then cycle off for a few moments, and then cycle back on to regain heat. If the unit takes longer than 40 minutes to preheat, you would want to schedule service for a professional to diagnose this for you.
