Alarm Won't Go Off, Door Won't Stay Shut, Food Is Thawing.
motor running constantly. I strapped the door shut. this all happened in the last 6 hrs. 4 yr old freezer,frost free,frigidaire upright.

Hello ptwist25 - Typically when the freezer is beeping it indicates a warning of a possible malfunction or an unsafe temperature inside. The silence the buzzer, press the ALARM OFF button, however if you have already done so try unplugging the unit or flipping the household circuit breaker off. Wait approximately ten minutes and if it proves to be ineffective contact a professional to move forward accurately. The freezer could possibly be experiencing a communication problem with the temperature control/board or wiring failure.
