Noises

My refrigerator makes a couple of strange noises.  It makes a knocking noise like an MRI.  It also makes breathing noises like Darth Vader.  Is there a reason for these noises?  Is there anything I can do to stop these noises?  It is loud and annoying!  Thanks.

I have a side by side and have noticed when everything is quiet it can make some stranges sounds. This is usually caused by defrost cycle & icemaker functions. If these noises are loud enough to annoy in a normal daily environment I would think you may want to call service.

If it's in warranty, great. If not it will cost you a service call.

I hope this was helpful.

Typically if the knocking is extensive, that is the compressor having troubles. Contact a service provider for further diagnosis.
