Remove Ice Maker Motor

we longer use our ice maker. we took out the maker for space for other stuff. now our fridge makes a humming sound, like the motor wants to run. can we disconnect the motor.

No you cannot disconnect the motor May be this would be the causeIce Maker or Dispenser

Refrigerator and freezers with a built-in ice maker may hum when the ice maker is in operation. This should be a quiet noise that lasts only while ice is in production. If the humming is prolonged or louder than usual, check the water line at the inlet valve on the back of the refrigerator. If it is not properly connected, you may hear a buzzing or humming sound. The ice dispenser may also hum if the control panel malfunctions. This must be repaired by a certified technician.
