Rip In Front Door Boot

HELP!! My parents are out of town and all of a sudden there is a rip in the front door boot seal which causes the wshing machine to leak like crazy. All I need to know is if this is a common problem on this model. I assume we will need to get a replacement part and either my father or a hired service person will install it. I just need proof I didn't necessarily do this. So is this  common problem on this machine? I just feel so bad, I break everything!!

Hello aleeann8m – Unfortunately this is not a common problem. Typically a tear in the door boot is caused by something sharp getting caught on the boot. You are correct; the boot will need to be replaced by a service provider.
