Torque Convertor And Enfine Miss

I have an 03 Ford Excursion recently my number 3 coil had a pretty bad miss and it felt like the torque convertor was making the rear end shake but I replaced the coils and everything feels fine now, why does an engine miss make it feel like it's coming from the transmission?
