Severe Knocking In Spin Cycle Only When Clothes Are In It.

when it was installed we tested it and it worked good but when i did two loads of laundry it started severe knocking during the entire spin cycle. I could get it to stop if i pushed on the side of the washer but when i released pressure the knocking returned. the washer is on a pedestal. any suggestions?
