Why Is My Screen Half Yellow Tinted ?

I recently moved and now when I turn my TV on the left side of my screen has a yellow tint. I can still see everything that is on, but half the screen is tinted yellow. I have adjusted all the controls and it doesn't help. I did talk to a friend who works on TV's and he says that the "Yellow Engine" is probably bad. How can I get it fixed ? What does it cost ? Do I need to send it back to the manufacturer or can a local TV repair shop fix it ? This TV is less than 2 years old but it only had a warranty for 1 year, I'd like to get it fixed but I don't want to pay an arm and a leg, any ideas of a ball park price ?
