Hi, I am sorry that you are having a problem with your sound for your movie. This does sound like the cables going from the DVD/VHD player to the TV are not connected properly. I believe you have RCA cables, so you should have one yellow, one red and one white going from the DVD/VHS to the TV and they all need to be connected in straight row all together on the back of the TV. It sounds like the red and white are connected differently than the yellow. If this is not the case, please email me with more information such as how the units are connected and I will assist you further. Thank you!
