Hello, this is Matthew Gonzales with DISH Network customer service. Some of our receivers are capable of having an external hard drive hooked up to them for a one time $40 fee. Not all of our receivers do this, so you may not be able to transfer recordings to another receiver. All of our ViP receivers, (except the 222/222k) can utilize this feature, but if it is not a ViP receiver, you will not be able to transfer the recordings. Hope this helps.
