Remote Quit Working On 722 Dish Receiver....i Have Identical Issue

moved receiver and changed to hdmi remote wouldnt work with receiver saw this post and got an idea!! changed back to rca's and it worked!!! so i called dish and they said the ir 20.0 or lower signal interferes with the hdtv on th hdmi. a simple uhf 21.0 remote will solve the problem. however, changing back to rca's i realized that dish's equipment doesnt send any better signal over either line so i may stick with $3 rca's. but just so you know you're right theres nothing wrong with your remote 'per say' its a design flaw in the equipment!

Hi, there are certain TV's that when connected via HDMI cable. The remote can cause the TV to do some strange things due to the 2 way communication through the HDMI. It can be UHF or IR interference depending on the TV. Switching to component cables will correct this issue and still allow for an HD picture.

There is a huge difference between an SD and HD picture. In order to view HD, you will need an HD TV connected by an HD cable to an HD receiver which has HD programming provided by an HD satellite. The picture has significant higher quality with brighter colors. The loss of any one of these components will result in an SD picture.
